Default StarV3 v1.3.23b build 2880 has been released.

Tony will fill this in when his time zone rolls around, but for now, suffice to say the much awaited 2880 release is online and you can download it. In my testing I have not had any issues that were outstanding with the previous release.

The files are getting too large with all the various firmwares, so something had to give. The server is no longer in the next room and with up and down ADSL in Thailand it took Tony two days of trying to get the files loaded.

Do you have a problem with letting people know you use our product? We can probably come up with some sort of special license to not show any names.

The biggie is rolling OLSR back to 0.5.5 and some DHCP optimizations. Mostly just tweaks and nothing major added or changed.

As I said in the initial posting, Tony will create the changelog once his day starts, which is Thailand time.

Looks like RIP still has a problem, just upgraded a Metro and to get things working I had to restart RIP. I also upgraded a WAR1 and that worked fine, so far it has only been the Metro that I had to restart RIP on. Think I will wait a while before upgrading anything else.

First positive post

I upgraded an AP with 17 clients and it's still working fine, I also switched it from b/g to g only and from 1x to 2x cloaking since I also today switched the last client from CB3s to starV3 clients on this AP. But things are working great. will do some more upgrades/testing next week.

Thanks,
Roger

Roger, are you also using this new release on the clients?

Yes, indeed, this whole repeater is 1.3.23b including clients. The signal varies quite a bit - clients are -75 one time I check and -85 the next. But I think that is because of noise. It is a rooftop repeater. It used to do that before I upgraded, too.

Thanks,
Roger

Yes, signal varying is most annoying. People I work with always nag about it, saying something is wrong with antenna or radio card.

It would be nice if it would show actual signal level from client, and maybe show in header of the list a common (for AP side) noise as a number (like for the client).

This way I never know if something is wrong with my equipment or noise is just to high.
