Default RANT: 2gig N is pitiful

I don't know whats going on with 2gig N but it's not working well at all.
I just put a PtP link in using 200n2-26 2x2 war1a ap and alix client/repeater.
    have the 2nd card disabled.
signal is 68,69 70 and throughput is 200k in the star through put test from board to board, through the board it's the same.
From the war1a ap to the next board up, wp188, via ether it's 1600-1800

You probably have the polarity reversed, or you have a lot of interference.

Try the latest 4.4.5.7-7842 release. It fixes the 11N card reset issue.

We have not had any good sucess with 2.4Ghz N dualpol in PMP so far. We've had EXCELLENT results in 5G 'n' on the backhauls, but nothing so far in 2.4 Ghz PMP that has worked out very well for us. For us, it was not wrong polarization and it wasn't any extra noise vs the 'g' setup were were trying to replace.

We then went back to single polarization - which was also simpler to 'prove' that we had the polarizations correct. We of course knew that single pol wasn't going to be a magic bullet, but did still expect to see a noticable 20-40% speed boost going from 'g' to 'n' on the same antennas with the same signals by just upgrading to 'n' cards. However, we were unable to get any real good performance at all. So, we ended up removing them and going back to 'g' for now, and will test more in a few weeks.

I'm not reporting anything 'broken' or a bug exactly, but just confirming that with an all StarOS setup - ALIX AP and all WAR CPE's - with 1.5.16.9 Firmware and even in 1x1 with single-pol antennas so we know for sure that the polarizations were correct, the performance seems to be off the mark quite a bit - and that the noise/signals were the same as the 'g' cards were were replacing. Maybe someone that has had better results can chime in?
