Default Atheros driver - missing functions?

    Hi!

The Atheros driver itself is now in a rather complete and stable state i guess. So it might be time to implement some features needed when operating a WISP

What is the timeframe for supporting the following in the Atheros driver:

    1) Intra BSS Relay (enable/disable)

    2) ESSID hiding

    3) ACL for Atheros driver

    Best Regards
    Oleb

Enhanced features are being included in StarOS v2, which is in development. Some of the new features may leak into the v1.x releases however.

    Thanks!

WEP, ACL, Radius ACL, 802.1x, WPA, WDS, DFS, etc. are all on our list (in no specific order).

    Thanks!

oooOOOooo! Two great features coming soon! Just in time! I've decided to try to deploy a new area with atheros "g" with some "a" backhauls. I was (am) gambling that wep would come along in time. I figure I can use pptp temporarily as needed... but I really want wep before I go into heavy production.

I've decided to spend the money on the rflinx 200mw g amps, they seem to make g feel as good or better than b at 200mw unamped. The extra sensitivity of the amp pays off, at least it seems to. I'll know more after we have some real customers deployed, and I do some "real world" tests. The amps boost the cost a bit, but not too bad.

I would also be interested in knowing what kind of CPE you will be using for 802.11g..

After playing with several of the cheap cpe options, I've decided on wrap boards with router on them. The cheap route was too time-consuming to maintain and troubleshoot. The expensive wrap-router route provides for easier to support installations.

In other words, the customers get the same thing I put in my towers, the difference are the antennas.

I'm running with T1's now, but as soon as the path to my office is complete, I hope to have 20megabits of backhaul to my pair of DS3's, giving my broadband customers better burstability than the 3megabit cablemodem service I compete with at $29 per month.

    Amen George!

Hows the WEP encryption (which the email above in this thread refers to) coming?
