I have a 17 mile starOS/hermes link with the singal in the mid to upper 70's. The noise floor on the client end is 99, and the tower end is 90. I'm looking at getting a rflinx amp for the 17 mile client end. It is a 24dB grid and 17' lmr-400. I was looking at either the 250mw indoor 2400LE AGC amp, the fixed gain 2400se indoor amp with 12dB tx, or one of the PCB amps.
Since you guys use the rflinx amps, which one would you reccommend? I'm just trying to get my mid/upper 70 signal into the mid/upper 60s. I don't want too strong a signal though so I don't want to go overboard on the amp.
The indoor amps are designed to have the radio pigtail plug directly into them and not overdrive them, right?
Thanks,
Bob C

Actually, any of the amps will work great with your system. The Orinoco will not overload the amp, and you will see at least a 10 dB improvement (or more depending on the amp specs).

sounds great Lonnie; I'll bug the rflinx guys when i call them monday. I'm a big believer of keeping the spectrum clean and since this is our first amped client link (it's actually a backhaul to another tower) I don't want to over do it. 250mw amp AGC should be fine, but we'll see what the rflinx people say.
