Hi guys, I was wondering if there is a simple way to test speed from hilltop to hilltop.
Thanks,

At this point there are no ptp throughput tests between StarOS units outside of pinging, however this feature is in the works.

What if one hilltop is star-OS and the other hilltop is freeBSD? Is there a way to put a file on the Star-OS tower and then just use a get command while logged into the BSD machine? I have a server license, so is there a way to store a file on the star-OS machine?
Reason I ask is because we are swapping out hilltops with Star-OS. We have a 13 mile tower to tower link. Before we were using 100mw cisco pci352 cards and 24dB grid antennas for the PTP. Now we still have the cisco/bsd machine on one hilltop, and a agere/star-os on another hilltop. Pings look good between the two, but I wanted to test thruput.
Our customers on that tower are still getting their 1 megabit, so it is working good enough. Just wanted to see for sure if it is as good as before.
Thanks, BOb C

We will most likely be using a ttcp compatible method on StarOS. This means any OS that has a ttcp utility (most) will be able to do a throughput test.

Thanks!
