What's the chances of finding an affordable Mini-ITX board (with LAN, serial, usb, etc), DC-DC power supply, dual PC card adapter, and so on for relatively inexpensive?

idotpc.com has mini-itx boards for $100 plus ram and etc.

We just finished testing a VIA mini-ITX system with onboard 800MHz cpu. The client version didn't work, but the Server version liked the Ethernet and the PCI adaptor in the slot. Worked like a dream.

Up here in Canada I was able to pick up the entire system (mini-tower :( ) with ATX power supply, 20 GIG hard drive, CD rom, and 128 MB of SD ram for just over $400 Canadian. We're looking at the 12VDC power supply too, but where there's AC, this makes for an excellent AP machine that can cache too. The dual PC card adaptor would be nice for a repeater as well.

Our mini-ITX with ultra Low power VIA Eden ESP processor (533 MHz fanless) only draws .8 amps (12VDC) at idle with a CF drive, wireless card and hard drive. On boot up it pulled 1.2 amps for a second or two.

Where did you buy your 533mhz mini-ITX board? How much was it?

We got it from one of our wholesalers here in Canada. You can find it at the VIA site and go from there. http://www.via.com.tw/en/VInternet/mini_itx.jsp
We can sell them for $199 Canadian as a plain board. We are working on this and a smilar board along with mounts and enclosures
