I got caught in a thunder storm up in the air and all my toolbox doors were open and several of the parts drawers were slid out.
When everything dried out I had hundreds of dollars of tools and hardware just covered with rust. What a mess.
I went over to Harbor Freight and purchased one of those 5 lb bowl type vibrating tumblers (believe it was about $60.00), dumped in some play sand, threw all the screwdriver bits, drill bits, and nuts bolts and washers.
Ran the thing for about an hour or two and everything is like new and very usable.
--------------
In this day and age every penny counts.
I make it a game now to pick up every bit of hardware I find on the ground.
Heavy washers, bolts and nuts are getting expensive, and even odd U bolts clean right up. It is kind of like found money.
----------
I know this thing has paid for itself several times over.
--------------------
Also nuts bolts and screws that are used all the time are stored in peanut butter jars and taken to a rack in the bucket when needed for a specific job.

Just an idea that works for me.:)
