I'm trying to install Staros on an old laptop and need to use a PCMCIA ethernet card.

I have tried 3com 3c589B and 3c589C nics and another Dell 10/100 PCMCIA nic with no success.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Wosat

Unfortunately no. The only pcmcia devices we support are Wireless cards.

We do support USB Ethernet devices, based on the Pegasus I / II chipset.

How many USB ethernets can you support? Do you support any of the USB-2 contollers?

We have only tested 1 USB device, though more should be possible. They must be plugged in before you boot the machine, and not removed during operation. (not hot-plugable). The performance on a USB Ethernet is not high, being roughly 600-700KBytes/sec, though they are key-able and do operate relatively error-free. Long-term operation for USB devices is unknown.

If your USB 2.0 controller is v1.1 compatible, there is a good chance we may support it.
