For the past few years I've been looking for a outdoor shielded cat5e cable with messenger cable. All it seemed there was available were RG-6 coax with messenger.
No longer. Just googled and there's quite a few hits. Wasn't like this a year ago.

With this cable, your installer(s) have no excuse not to ground an installation... and they'll look prettier.
I'll be ordering some from somewhere this week.

Looks like nice cable, but how much and where? Let us know what you find?

I'll also add that even though you have the messenger for grounding, the drain wire still needs to be grounded at one. This bleeds off any static that is picked up as well as creating an RF path to ground for the shield.

Actually the primary application that cable is made for is overhead. The messenger wire is uses to support the wire. This is very similar to what the telephone company used to use for temporary overhead cables (the new stuff has the copper wires in the middle with a nylon rope embedded on either side of them). The RG6 and similar is used by Cable TV companies for overhead cables.
Of course there is nothing stopping you from using the messenger wire as a ground, but I think you will find that it is VERY stiff to work with.
And Lonnie is absolutely correct in that you MUST connect the drain wire to ground at one end as well. If you have a good ground connected to the equipment at the antenna, I would ground it there, otherwise ground it at the bottom (to the same ground as the messenger wire).

I finally used up my current supply of outdoor cat5e and ordered some of this stuff. It comes on 1640' rolls and is free shipping from Canada. Stay away I found it first!

I got it today, and was so excited that I decided to do a late afternoon install. This cable is the real deal. I even bragged to the customer that:
1. He's got the best installer doing his install
2. He's got the best cable available.
I shoulda bragged that he's got the best CPE as well (WAR1)
:)
