Power Supplies

Until recently I've just been using the cheap unregulated wall warts on my tower sites, plugged into a UPS. After reading this article I use only regulated 24v power supplies on the towers.

I figured the UPS would make sure I had good voltage, but on tower sites you need every level of protection you can get.

I still use the cheap unregulated supplies on the client end due to cost.

We have been installing dual charge controllers and building battery banks at all of our sites. Hopefully when snow flies all of our mountain sites will have one week worth of battery at every site.
We stopped using anything AC, everything at our sites is 12 or 24v DC.
The only item AC powered is the charge controllers at the sites.

We do the battery things as well, except some of our chargers are Solar only to a 24V battery bank.
