Sorry for the delay I know some of you were interested in these. The metal shop I had make them had a ton of delays but they finally finished the first run.
They are currently rated at NEMA4 and I have submitted for an IP rateing. I would like to hear some feedback. I will also consider sending a sample to those of you whom contacted me earlier on, you know who you are.
Check out the pics here. http://www.argoswireless.com (http://www.argoswireless.com/)
Thanks in advanced for your input.

Nice enclosure design.
Living in a rain forest, I would feel more comfortable with an additional clamp on the top and bottom, like the one on the side. Although your gasket system looks thick and tight.
Wouldn't happen to have a source for inexpensive Double D punch?

go.fast, thanks for the good ideal. even though I've had them put a ton of neoprene on there, I may have a second clasp put on the next batch.
Thanks,
Greg W.
I'll ask around about the D-Punch.

It works, it just takes longer than expected. :D

As far as Size- Looks great!
As far as Mounts- Looks liek it can Support 2-3/8" Dia Pole- Great!
But Cover? Hard to believe that will stay water tight over time, with only one clamp to hold closed, and no drip adges on seal.

We actually tested this unit this last weeked by setting the unit in a dishwasher and running the full dirty dish cycle!!! As we suspected no water. We will be doing further tests and by no means was this a end all be all but he wanted to know. Also temp / wind / humidity need to be addressed.

So, can we buy one to play with? How much?

I am in for 5
and maybe another 5 for the 2 port boards with just two pigtails instead of 4 for a nice backhaul/forwardhaul unit
Matbe add some tiny little holes to combat condesation like the back of the rootennas

I use a lot of units where they are mounted inside in bell / clock towers, attics and such.
I was wondering how to deal with the pipe mount bracket on a flat surface.
I think all I need is a square piece of wood with 2 holes and longer screws to space out the clamp saddle that is welded to your box.
That also makes it nice to run wires behind it if I need to.
Lets air circulate around the box to help cool.
I will be knocking holes in the sides of some of them for a temp controled fan. I have a hunch these METROS are going to get mighty warm.
Let us know price and availability off line if you wish.
davidv@logical.net.
My clever installer (who is able to use tools without hurting himself like me) attaches some unistrut to the flat surface and then uses unistrut pipe clamps to go around a tiny 1 to 2 foot piece of mast just tall enough for the mounting bracket.

Hey guys, I'm gonna start the pricing at $71.07 for singles, $66.33 for 10 packs, and $61.18 for 50 and up. If it looks like they are going to take off, the next round will be cheaper as the manafacturer now has the stamps created and the price to me will be cheaper. I have about 300 currently in stock.
I'll have one of my guys get a secure e-commerce site up as soon as possible, but for now you can email me at gwarfield@independencecomm.com with requests for quotes and pay by credit card. If you want to set terms I'll forward to our accounts receivable department who will likely need a credit app.
I'm going to start a poll under another thread or we can do it here on the subject of you guys wanting me to resell volume here in the U.S. or not. I do keep stock here now, while being greedy and using it all for ourselves and reselling to a few local WISPs here in Kentucky and Ohio. We keep stock of WAR-1s, WAR-2s, Metros, Power Supplies, POEs, U.fls, and Ethernet bulkheads. I stock a moderate array of antenneas, Roos, Arc Wireless Enclosures, Hyperlink Tech, and Pac stuff but I'm willing to entertain the idea of taking requests with a level of commitment. So shoot me some ideals if your interested about what we should carry.
While we are on the subject of what we do here at Independence Communications, we also do alot of component level Surface Mount PC Board repair and diagnostics. RF Propagation Studies, FCC Coordination, Network Design and Implementations, Turnkey ISPs and WISPs, Public Saftey Mobile Data solutions Project Managment, and this fall we are building a Hosted VOIP center. So if any of these services are interesting to you we travel all over the U.S. So give us a call.
Chad, and David PM me with your shipping info and I'll send you a present. =>
Thanks,
Greg W.

I still think the seal may permanently compress over time, allowing some minor leaking. But not sure that it would matter anyway, since these are deep cases, and a drip would never touch the electronics. Solvable with a small drip hole on the bottom as a precaution, if that ever occured, that someone already mentioned would be good to combat condensation also.
But over all, Pretty SWEET!
For that price... Are you including Backplain, Ubolts (2-3/8" min), and MB standoffs? OR just bare ext case?

Hey tdereggi, Good ideas for a condensation hole in the bottom. I am considering making the neoprene an 1/8" thicker to combat the time and preasure of the clamp. Under the neoprene is a 1/2" lip to prevent any water or ice migration.
Also all the backplain and ubolts are included. Standoffs vary from board to board so I hadn't thoght of including those yet.

If you want any suggestions for further disign changes, I would suggest placing the cable entrance on the side, and spacing the N connectors in a bit of a U shape; furthest left towards the back, the middle 2 towards the front, the back left towards the back. This will allow for the nut driver to get to the u-bolt to tighten up, and give more room for taping. That is how I set up my 8X10 hammond boxes.

How deep at you 8x10 boxes? I would guess 6" or more. Do You like the pole bracket welded on?
