Golden Rule: Test as much of your equipment in "the shop" to make sure it is functional before deploying it. Always carry a complete extra cpe with you incase you need to swap components

1. Make sure you have the proper Antenna port selected in Staros
2. Make sure Country Code, Cloaking Mode and 802.11 Mode all match
3. Make sure your security methods are in place and that security keys match
4. ...

We never test CPEs before deploying. Instead, we carry 2 or 3 ready-to-go and if the first one has problems, swap in another one. We configure them in the field rather than in the shop.

There are several reasons for this: (1) saves the time in the shop that pre-testing would require; (2) covers for problems you wouldn't discover in the shop anyway, such as diminished radio power or picking up the wrong unit in the shop; (3) makes it more likely you'll do a serious field test of the installed unit.

Haha, I've done it both ways. I found you can save yourself a lot of frustration by testing what you can in "the shop". I test all our sr9 cards at my house as I have found many to be bad right out of the box. I've added - always carry an extra cpe, above. tks

Make sure the customer knows that there will be a wire ran to their computer. I have had several customers surprised by this because they "thought it was wireless".:)
