Where might I find these? Or a Changelog?
Thanks,

In past,I had some RIP problems and I have used SSH client to connect on some of my staros boxes. Where is SSH Client in new release ?
The ssh client has been moved to the command shell.
Once in the command shell, drop to the prompt (type 'sh'), and you will have ssh and telnet at hand.
The download is on files.star-os.com, and the changelog is on www.star-os.com (http://www.star-os.com) downloads page.
Where might I find these? Or a Changelog?
Thanks,
802.1b bridging, and WDS for client-mode Atheros.
What's 802.1b bridging? The only thing I can find via google is people mistyping 802.11b or near-useless descriptions like "Standard for LAN/WAN management."
That's 802.1d. The changelog had a type-o, that has been corrected.
Oh, so STP and WDS.
You said a proxy-arp type client bridge (a-la StarOS v2) would be coming later, it didn't make it into 1.1.12, correct?
Correct. As I mentioned in previous posts, the Proxy-arp client bridge would come in a later release.

What is the WAR-4 WDR800 platform?
It's a LanReady WDR800 (4-port) board. They are quite nice, and a good price. We do not offer them for sale, however we do support them now for those who wish to use them.
Can't really find any information on that specific model, and their web site is kind of sad, with half of the images being broken and links to "file:///F:/Sliver%E5%83%85%E6%94%B9%E5%B9%BE%E5%BC%B5%E5%9C%9 6/lanready%20web/Product%20%20List/WOR800.htm" and such.
Oh well. If I want something super duper heavy duty awesome I would probably opt for the new "METRO" platform since it looks like an impressive bit of engineering. Next time I put some boards in a very inaccessible place (like 200 feet up a tower) I hope to have enough experience with and confidence in the new METRO platform to make it my first choice for that. I'm always on the lookout for nearly immortal hardware to use for my infrastructure. Individual clients I can go out and replace, but infrastructure outages suck. The Gateworks boards are good stuff and better than the WRAPs, but they aren't quite immortal.
If I want something more budget-conscious, the Gateworks-based WAR2 and WAR4 are great.

By any chance, was one of the "many" fixed bugs in the list the SNMP memory leak? (Or whatever it is that causes it to chew ram and then stall)

You can say this again. The war2's have been great for me.
I'm waiting though for the metro to pop.
The snmp issue is still unresolved in this release, however we will be tackling it soon.

The lanready site is indeed lacking in some areas, unfortunately.

Please just check the release notes.

Due to the amount of updates, the release notes are a little vague. Many things were resolved, but nothing related to snmp unfortunately.

I did, which is why I asked. Because they were quite vague and gave no specifics.
Edit: Unless you were referring to the changelog? I didn't even know that was available - I don't see it in the files section?

I couldn't see all supported channels by atheros card. Is there any change in this regard ? Even ## country code does not seem to work.

I think Tony mentioned that the plan was to move the updated Atheros drivers currently in the beta version over to the production version soon. When this occurs, will the production version support WMM QOS, or will that be later on?

I think the new driver might have slipped in as one pop I put it on I have noticed better signal numbers by like 2-4 db higher then before with the old 1.11 version but it could be just a quirk too..

Nope, we decided to wait until 1.1.12 was released before we do any major Atheros overhauls. The goal for this release was to support our new WAR-1 client. Now that it is released, the new Atheros support will follow soon.
Once implemented, it will have WPA, QoS, and all other features that are currently in the Development branch.

Yeah!
Please just check the release notes.
I for one would like to see a list of the bugs that were fixed in this release!
other than just, far too many to note.

Since the underlying framework has been changed, it is not practical for us to provide a point by point list of things that have changed, or were fixed.
If you have a specific question about an outstanding bug or problem you had, we can look it up and see if it was resolved.

What you might like does not mesh with what I would like and a lot of other users would like. Tony is coding not documenting. If he is documenting then he is not coding.
I prefer code to documentation.
After a few days of no serious bug reports it will be expected that you move to the new release, so it does not really matter what was documented (or not documented).

I'm confused. Thought this was for the new client release.
Is there any reason to upgrade war2's and 4's?
All platforms we offer are unified, and will be released in tandem benefiting from any changes and improvements we make. If you use 1.1.12 on the WAR-1, it should be identical to the 1.1.12 used in the WAR-4 (minus some services not suited to the WAR-1 platform).
There are several improvements, however some issues have come up that we have fixed, and will be working into the 1.1.13 'hotfix' release due out this week.
Issues found include:
*) Country code '##' does not provide the channel list it should, though other codes work as expected.
*) When activating changes, all Atheros cards will be reset, not only the one that was changed. (non critical, but annoying)

I loved this feature. I didn't loose my backhaul affecting many other customers during a change on another radio
I agree, but I think tony inferred that it was going to be fixed.
That is correct. The upcoming release will have these issues resolved.

I didn't mean to ruffle anybody's tail feathers, changelogs are generaly associated with version upgrades, that's all, I am very pleased that you guy's are coding on the software, the only major issue that I have experienced is the snmp issue which was discussed earlier in this thread , and it sounds like you guy's are on it, so no problem here
