I dropped Ryan at MetaGeek a note to see what his plans are for his much needed Wi SPY product for other bands and external antenna.
I am not Hawking his product but it appears to be a pretty good "bang for the buck" and much better than "a wet finger in a windstorm" .

Thank you for interest in Wi-Spy. The 5.x and 900 model should be out in early summer (June timeframe). Unfortunately standard 802.11 radios don't have the signal strength resolution and frequency resolution necessary for our software to really work. Yes, the current USB hardware is rather limited, but we're working hard on the next generation of Wi-Spy that has all new hardware internals and has an SMA connector.
