Hi all,
I am currently trying to use a different OS than what I am using at the moment. So I'm gonna try Star-os. I have read a lot of documentation, and set up 2 wrap boards with the v3 version on them. Now, I do not really want to use a server for authorisation. The current system I use loads up all the clients info on the os itself and authorises them itself without relying on a server. Can this be done with Star-os or how hard is it use your own server for authorisation? There is not much info out there on this subject, and believe me I have looked.

TIA

Paddy

You can use MAC ACL to allow association and then use the ISC DHCP server to do static assignment based on the customer MAC.

Currently that is all you can do for V3 and an external radius is not used or required.

Apologies if this sounds stupid, but please understand I have been using the one os for 3 years now and have not been testing any other os out there, but what is ISC DHCP & MAC ACL? Is it a function build into v3 or an add on software pack?
