Gee, that was fast. Thanks guys, I've had several things in the past I thought I would share, but I didn't want to step on any toes, so-to-speak.
:)
Not a problem. This type of forum is very handy, and allows people to get to know each other, without the constraints of specific topics. This is something we should have added long ago.

I don't seem to have a way to make a new post other than this.
I have had three instances now where after maybe 30 or 40 config saves on V3 (1690), the board appears to not reboot. WHen examined via the serial cable, the board boots up and fails to install the Atheros drivers, reaches the end of the boot process, displaying the Startup Complete message but, the ENTER key does not wake the console.
The only fix is to diskimg a new OS, relicense and reinstall the config.
At first we thought it might be a defective CF. But, this has happened on three V3 systems, different boards, different CF makers. Too much of a coincidence.
Has anybody else experienced something similar?

There is a known issue with releases 1.1.6 through 1.1.8 that may cause problems during bootup, after many saves. It is recommended to upgrade to at least 1.1.9 to avoid problems.

Lonnie just informed me about SNMP corrupting free mem. How does one disable it? I don't see a feature in 1741 to do that or should one just not poll it with an SNMP agent?

Services menu has the option to disable it. It does not seem to matter if it is pollled or not.
Under "system->services->snmp agent", there is an option to disable it.
Thanks!
