DNS for syslog entry

Would it be at all possible to include the ability for the hostname parameter in remote syslog setup to be a FQDN as opposed to an IP address? Neither v2 or v3 currently let you.

It's handy to be able to use DNS in other situations, like putting "time.domain.dom" for the NTP server. It would be nice to be able to use that in remote syslog as well.

It would be handy but it would take a lot more cpu, bandwidth and memory. I am not keen on loading it down, since out efforts are aimed at squeezing performance out of the system.
