We offer a conditional warranty on the WAR boards and hardware we sell.

This warranty will only cover failures caused by a manufacturing defect. This means improperly soldered or mounted components. It does not cover a failure that can be caused by any extreme voltage input or any form of physical abuse or modification.

Simply stated: if you experience an Ethernet port failure or a power supply failure it will not be covered since this is almost 100% the cause of an over voltage or static discharge to one or more external connections. Radio failures are also not covered due to the high possibility of static discharge.

If the unit runs, but is very slow or erratic, it is likely a defective part or soldering on a component. That is covered and the unit will be repaired or replaced.

To return a board for warranty it is very important that you NEVER send the package by UPS. Every time they are involved with cross border shipping we will get a Customs Brokerage bill for an amount of from $75 to a high of $115. We will refuse to receive such packages, but in cases where the package has already been cleared by our Broker we are forced to bill that charge to the customer.

I do advise that you mail the return item. It is inexpensive and reasonably quick. Declare the item as having a value of $10 or less, which is true, because the item is defective and is being returned for repair or replacement.

Always email us with your details and situation before you send anything back. It does not make sense to send a board that was hit by lightning since it will not be covered by warranty and you will just be spending money to send it to us, with no chance of a replacement.

Also, it is a good idea to get our approval before returning it to us, since if it has to be sent to a US firm, then you have a much longer wait if you send it to us, rather than sending to the US firm directly. We do not repair the boards so we would simply return it to the US firm. If you are in the USA it will be MUCH quicker to skip the step of first returning to VNC in Canada.
