Hey guys,

Exstatic to see the new release, but it seems the release notes are missing. I don't want to upgrade my WARs just yet if there aren't many improvements.

Thanks again,

tony

Is it still 192.168.1.1/24 password 1234 to access the default setup? I can not SSH or ping this IP with my crossover plugged into my ether1.

Serial shows this: (please ignore the first bits, as it was me upgrading to WRAP BIOS ver 1.11 from 1.03, thinking that this was the problem why v3 wouldn't boot)

Everything should be updated now.Umm... Where are the release notes? I go to the download area (http://www.star-os.com/starv3/downloads.php) and I see release notes for the past releases, but I can't see them for the current release...

The release notes are linked above the version number for the new release.

i20access,

Yes, the ip and password you show is correct.

It is strange that it will not properly boot for you. We use BIOS v1.03 ourselves with the WRAP 2c, and WRAP 1E-2 (3 ethernet) releases.

Can you try to re-copy the flash, or perhaps trying a different brand of CF card?

Also, make sure you are set to 38400,8,N,1

For those who are unable to boot v3, can you post your WRAP hardware type, BIOS revision, and flash size & brand?

Thanks

That setup should be good I would think. Can you try with a smaller CF and/or brand of CF? Also, how did you burn the .cf image to your CF card?

What kind of WRAP is this? Is it a WRAP 1C-1 or WRAP 1C-2 ? 1C-1 is the 2 ethernet, 2 mpci, the WRAP 1C-2 is a 3 ethernet, 1 mpci system.

Thanks!

It looks like they used the serial port to transfer and burn the flash. Can you guys try the program Tony included in the build called diskimg? It uses a USB flash writer. Please be careful and make sure you do not do anything to disk0 which will be your Windows disk.

I have updated the 1.1.0 release post with some information regarding the DiskImg software, and issues some are having.

It works!
Using a new firmware or using linux dd for write the flash.
Thanks!

Regarding the v2-v3 upgrade process which I'm also waiting for before trying to upgrade my 150 WRAPs...

Will it be similar to vX to v3 in that we'll need to install an intermediary v2 version which will then allow v3 to be uploaded? If so, we're looking at a minimum of two reboots per upgrade?

Are you still on track for the next couple of days for this release? Thanks.

Yes it will be very similar and the v2 will read v2 configs and write V3 configs.

It will be likely mid next week before we are comfortable with it.

Tried several WLM54G's, Senao 2511's.

Only radio's recognized are SR2, CM9.

Need a radio for a local hotspot. What to use?

Why don't the WLM54G's work with V3 wrap?

Thanks,

The BIOS releases for the WRAP prior to v1.11 have a bug that prevents the 6th-gen cards from being recognized. Once you upgrade your BIOS, you should be ready to go. If you choose to continue using the WRAP as-is, the CM9 and SR2 should work as expected.

http://forums.star-os.com/showthread.php?t=5634

Star-v3 does not supported legacy Prism-based cards (Senao 2511).

Can you explain how to update the bios or point me to the post that explains it if there is one?
Thanks

Go to http://www.pcengines.ch/ and download the v1.11 (or newest) BIOS. The archive will contain instructions.

Thanks!
