As you are planing to release x86 (nonwrap) V3, it may be useful to have something which would be used to maintain external hardware watchdog.
Something sending some signals to serial port periodicaly, with changeable period and strings would be fine.

We have not yet decided on on the PC strategy. I see so many problems with PC's that we are not wishing to tackle them at this time. There are too many variations and reliability has always been an issue. We had very good luck with the hand picked units (someTyan and the famous ATX-733) but most guys who went to their local computer store and bought the mobo of the day did not fare so well.

We might do a server box but no wireless. That is what WAR boards are for.

Yes you are right about stability, x86 can make fast connections but there are many concerns with everything from power, cabling, memory, static, heating, cooling etc. We have found that small number of actual platforms (available to us) is stable enough. We had success with some epia boards and older branded p3s. War is better choice anyway as prices droped recently.

In meantime as we got x86 full option, have you considered again external watchdog? I see you supported some mobos with integrated watchdog but this may be useful feature too, especially as this feature can be programmed in a day.

We can consider it, but not until we get some high priority features added.
