Could someone point me to a manual or user guide that explains the protocols behind VDS so that I could have a greater understanding on how it works?

is VDS just another way of doing a VPN if not how would I use it?

VDS is a perfect VPN. We evaluated many others and found them to be quite complicated. VDS is simple and works well.
