I need to find an sbc that can have 4-6 ethernet ports and run star-os. IT does not need wireless at all.

Right now my obvious choice is a PC with several nics in it but that is rather large and overkill.

I suppose it depends on how many bits you need to push.

There is the Soekris net4801-60 SBC with lan1641 NIC and case. I'm using just a straight net4801 with the three ports in two places in the network, and it's solid.

There was also some discussion on a mini ITX solution with about 6 ethernet ports on the pfSense mailing list fairly recently. I would have to dig to find it, but as I recall it was European made, and fairly pricey for my purposes, but it was also fairly fast.

You could always roll your own with a mini ITX motherboard or a "thin PC" of your choice, and use a RouterBOARD 44, Soekris lan1641, or even an old D-Link DFE-570TX (quad Tulip) NIC.

It is for my datacentre. I have two 802.11a links from different towers and I Want to run BGP. I also have hosting there for another company and want them on a separate segment. So I need eth 4 ports minimum and more for growth.

I suspect I will end up rolling a PC.

I thought Lonnie had something in the works that was maybe 8 ethernet ports on a board?

Where are you at with that Lonnie.
