Can anyone recommend an enclosure for the WARboard.
Are the holes in the same place as the WRAP boards?

ya, we use mini-box WRAP enclosures and install a sheet metal back plate with different standoff spacings.

We use the PacWireless Die Cast box. It comes with the backing plate also for about 1/2 the price.

(and once we use up the Mini-boxes we have here, we are switching to Tasos' boxen)
The PAC wireless ones he sells are a bit bigger but they are much cheaper and a bit easier to modify for wars. They also have a better waterproof connector.
Speaking of boxes, Back in my PC reapir days, we once had a client come into the shop with a "dripping wet box" due to a pipe burst. But that is one of those stories for BOFH. :)

How about a 19" 1U rackmount case for the WAR/WRAP? Anyone know of one?

I will not use those pac wireless boxes anymore. I thought they were pretty cool at first but they are a bit of a pain in the a** the foam seal wears away pretty quickly if you have to open any more than a couple of times and the 8 tiny screws kinda suck. I have been slowly changing them over to sceptre boxes and doing the modifications myself but am definitely ordering the mini box ones to check them out dont really want to mess around to much with sceptre boxes either. I guess those pac wireless boxes are okay I have just been frustrated with a couple so I am replacing them as soon as I can.

I should have posted this sooner.
I was talking to Ben a couple of months ago and he said they were looking into a new design for the boxes.
They were asking what we needed. deeper wider, longer, etc.
I'll have to check and see what they did.

I am looking at using the Nema Enclosures from Pac Wireless. Where do you guys buy the mounting screws for the board?

I've tried the hammond, the pac wireless, etc..
The demarctech one wins hands down ( except on price )
They are $55, but work every penny if you have to open
them in the air .

hinged, two captive screws, lightweight, the new version comes with
two N hole, pre-made, and a plug for one if you don't use it.
Great boxes.

I don't want to "Shill" for anyone but when a manuf steps up and makes changes that we suggest , It should be acknowledged.
Ben and the gang are making a retrofit front cover for the existing boxes.
It is sealed I believe with an O ring, has hinges and a single knob to lock it up.
I was told about a month ago it was on the way in about a month so "It must be getting ripe by now".
They sent me a picture, It looks mighty nice and makes the box a little deeper if that matters to anyone.
PS: Ben also said that they were looking to redesign the weatherproof NIC feed throughs. No data or time table on that as yet.
Thank you Ben and the folks at Pac Wireless.

We have a stack of the old TT/CPE boxes, the ones with the side mounted latch. I had the local sheet metal shop make a mounting plate that is fastened with screws to the builtin mounting stand-offs in the box. We then added four stand-offs to the plate and fastened the war board to the stand-offs.
Works great and was cheap since we had the boxes and a supply of stand-offs and screws. The mounting plates were $5 each and I probably could have gotten them cheaper but the sheet metal man was nice and fast so I was generous.

The cases I have used for WRAP boards, and will certainly fit the WAR boards as well. Is a Hammond EJ1084, 10in x 8in x 4in. Grey powder coated finish, good rubber gasket, single 90 degree turn latch that can be turned with a penny (or a screwdriver if you just can't find a penny in your pocket), mounting flange on the top and bottom, and includes a galvanized mounting plate. Just drill the appropriate holes as needed in the mounting plate, then the appropriate holes in the bottom for the N connectors and Cat 5.
They are not cheap, and they require drilling, but they are very solid and very easy to service with the simple latch. I do like the white aluminium case from Demarc Technologies as well, although the two screws can be a bit more awkward to deal with while working on a tower.
For those of you in coastal areas (salty air) they make the same case in stainless steel, although it is rather expensive.

Yeah, I have to agree Ben been a great guy to work with and pac is a good antenna company with great products.
I've been using those quick connects and they work great.
