New user questions

Just got my new war boards in. 2 2 radio boards and1 4 radio board. I now have a couple questions.

1. How are the radios numbered? Which is #1 as laid out on the board.

2. IN other posts new users were instructed to upgrade bios and software but my boards seem to have the latest already. 1.0.6 build2773. Should I do the upgrade as the other posts say?

3. Is there any trick to making all traffic comming in on atheros 1 to atheros 2 to make a repeater?

The rest seems pretty straight forward. Thanks Lonnie and the gang.....looks so far like a easy system.

1. when you run apconfig it displays the mac addresses of the cards in each slot, each cm9 has its mac address printed on it, so it is easy to work out which is which.

2. I have assumed that the stuff was already at the later release

3. I have only tried static routing, but it seems to work fine.

The big mistake I made was assuming that changes I made to ip addressing config etc. took place immediately. They do not, you have to go through the first menu option on most changes to save & reboot the board settings, before they will take.

I figured that out as well about the reboot. I have tried the static routing but for some reason it is not working. It seems so simple but I am missing something. Thank you for your reply

I had the same problem, it turned out to be a simple routing error, don't forget to set up the default route on the remote war board


pc client out 192.168.1.1 ->
192.168.1.2 in warclient out 192.168.3.1 ->
192.168.3.2 in warap

warap needs a route back to the 192.168.1.0/24
