I just got 3 brand new WAR boards in, I downloaded the new firmware and the Apconfig program, pinged it ok, and then logged in, went directly to upgrade the firmware (didn't change any settings). I uploaded the system firmware build 2773, it did it's thing, got the button that said firmware updated successfully. Waited another 10 minutes, and hit the reboot button...

Now I can't ping it or log in to it, it seems effectively dead (besides the LAN LEDs). I have power cycled it, to no avail.

This seemed like a pretty straight forward procedure... never had a problem upgrading firmware before... What's up? I'm afraid to touch the other ones now...

Are these dual or quad boards? Perhaps you can remove the radios. If the radios were set to scan for best channel we have seen trouble with upgrades. For some reason the radios do their scan and then cause a reboot, so they must be seeing something that is not good. Remove the radios and see if you can get the unit booted and pingable with just Ethernet. What are you using for power supply (voltage and current).

Hi,

Sorry about the long wait to reply--I have been busy. I turned off all sources of interference in the room, and it booted fine, so it must have been getting some interference, just like you suggested. Luckily, I didn't need to remove the radio cards. I upgraded the boot rom, and all seems fine, so far..

Thanks for the help..

Make sure you disable scan for best channel.
