What is "Wireless Client bridging via our proprietary WDS mode." ??
I would expect that it wouldn't allow communication between a WAR board and a non StarVX WDS device but why is it proprietary? Is there something special about it that allows it to outperform/outfeature the WDS spec?
Does it use 4 address frames? beacons?
Our WDS (Wireless Client Bridge) is not proprietary, however it does require an AP that is able to dynamically create WDS sessions with it's associated clients.

I took that quote off the StarVX page...guess that page needs to be changed if WDS is not proprietary.
So no 4 address frames and yes on beacons I would assume?
I cannot seem to find the quote you mention, on our star-vx webpage.
WDS is standard, which means it uses 4-address frames.

Thanks. While our WDS implementation is standard (protocol-wise), the setup and AP requirements may be considered proprietary to some which is probably why it is listed as such.

Our WDS will not establish with anything but our own StarVx AP or Client. We have used WDS for years and we know the trouble it can cause, but we know that it is the only way to establish a transparent bridge at a Client, so we did the best thing and innovated to make our WDS as easy to use as a standard Client but it has the benefits of WDS.
So, yes, it is proprietary. The way it works is our little secret. As a user all you have to know is that it works.

I think I was asking my question incorrectly and/or not specific enough.
I am really more interested to find out if StarVX supports a Repeater only mode similar to the Repeater mode defined/used in Linux Wireless Extensions. I know that StarVX is not Linux and I know that WEXT is not part of StarVX but I would like to find out if a Repeater only mode (P2P or P2MP WDS) exists for StarVX or is planned...and one that uses 4 address frames.

This is something that we have yet to implement, however it is indeed planned for StarVX.
