Hi. I have some DELL's (OptiPlex's I think?) that I'm now using for StarOS AP's. Some of them have been working very well, and other's are locking up. I'm wondering if there are possible Ethernet issues...
Can you tell me if their built-in 3Com 3C905B-TX is fully supported? I know on the Website FAQ that 3C900 is listed, but I'm not sure if that means the whole 3C9xx family or just some 3C900 model? The chip has 40-0483-001 screened on it, and http://www.idhw.com/textual/chip/3com/chippicture.html identifies that as a 3C905B-TX.
You see, I've got two machines (a clone with a RealTek and the DELL) sitting back to back with a crossover cable and the DELL is locking up. When I try to upload new firmware via the wired Ethernet port, it just get's to 70k completed and then hangs and eventually craps out, however I can upload via a wireless link a hop away that eventually comes in that Ethernet port anyway, so I'm confused and any suggestions would be great.
