Hi,
I have a WRAP that has been corrupted. I can't access it wirelessly, through Ethernet or null modem cable. It keeps cycling on startup. ( 38400 baud).
How do it into to it to upgrade the software.
regards
Donal

Sounds like your CF has become corrupt, and needs to be re-installed. To do so, download the software revision you wish to use (WRAP Edition). You'll need the .iso or .raw depending on how you wish to install the software.

The easiest is to install a USB CF adapter in your windows system, and use a program such as http://www.roadkil.net/DiskImg.html to write the firmware to the CF. The ISO can be booted in a system with a USB CF adapter, and will install it for you. (disable any internal hdd in the system before hand, just to ensure it gets written to the proper device).

Thanks!

tony,

i have not tried this before so forgive the uncertainity. I attempted the following.
I downloaded the following image

SPECIAL PURPOSE SYSTEMS (16MB Flash)
WRAP edition

I used the .raw and the .iso with the disk image tool suggested.
I choose the write image to 2: and browsed to location of file. The file was not visible untill i seleected the "all files option" instead of "image file".
The message wrtite completed was shown but the WRAP is still in the same cycling condition.
What am i doing wrong ?
regards
Donal

forget the previous message. I used physdiskwrite in dos and got the data onto the card.

Same problem though. WRAP cycles when booting up.
Any ideas ?

Do not use the ISO, as it's a CD-Rom bootable image.

Can you explain 'cycles' ? What do you see on the serial port before it does this.

I used the .raw file.

Not sure what you you mean about the serial port before it cyles.
When i power the WRAP - it boots up and gets to the menu below

After a minute or so it boots again and goes through the same process. This is the cycle.
Below is a print out of the process.

Can you remove all radio cards, and see if it continues to reboot? Depending on the cards used, sometimes the system will reboot due to lack of power.

I have removed all radio cards. This doesnot effect the situation. i had 2 Atheros cards in the WRAP. THey were not been found on boot up. I removed them and put in a prism. This was found but the "boot up cycles" were still happening.

Is it time for a new board ?

Unfortunatley, it sounds like your board has gone bad.
