What is released? Do you have your own product you are releasing? Your post does not say much.

Keep an eye on the download site for the new GUI which you will require for doing configuration.

What is the limitation of the new software?
Is there things left out at this point?

Anyone tried this, any feedback?
How does performance compare to other software/HW platforms, such as RouterOS?

Hey Stephen and welcome to the dark side ;) The new WAR boards are in the process of being shipped and received so there isn't a great wealth of real world experience yet but watch this space as it should be a good read from what I've heard already :)

Super - wondered how long it would take for someone to "spot me" here - nice to see a familiar face.
I'd looked at the IXP425 platform before, and my perception is that it's about perfect for this type of wireless equipment. x86 gets expensive and hot if you want decent performance.
If I can get a clear slot I'd like to try this solution out, though it's hard to find spare time these days.
IMHO there could be a "backhaul" license package, for non-WISP users I think the 80:20 rule applies - 80% of users only need 20% of features - and fewer settings for untrained users to change and "break" the link. The basic software build here sounds perfect for a P2P link.

Well let me know if your planning on ordering some. We are looking to get some of the 2 port WAR's once they are available so maybe we could do a bulk order and save on the shipping ;)

Sure - might want the 533MHz CPU, 2 off, for tests. You have my email I think -

I'd be interested in this as well. I cannot seem to send a private message to you, my email is ********* (tim@wdi.co.uk) (lonnie edited)

OK, I have my WAR boards now.
Have one fired up, i can see it boot fine on the serial port.
Excuse the dumb questions: what is the default
- IP address?
- user name (for apconfig)?
- password (for apconfig)?
Many thanks!

.... thanks -
Have it up and it's verrrrrry nice -
Back-to-back in the lab I am getting 97Mbps throughput ethernet to ethernet in bridged mode, 5GHz Turbo, using 2 Mikrotik routers either end purely for traffic generation with bandwidth-test, UDP traffic.
Top work !
Regards & have a great weekend everyone.

Maybe the fastethernet port is the bottle neck here ;) Have you tried using both ethernet ports at the same time?
