I would like to have time stamps in the kernel message log.
Since StarOS does not keep time of day, a time stamp based on elapsed time since the last restart would be okay.

Since the dmesg log is direct from the kernel, it is not possible to timestamp each entry, however if you enable the remote syslog facility, each line that is logged will have a time stamp like you wish. There is a free syslog service for Windows called Kiwi Syslog that should work quite well for this purpose.

Tony,
I know I asked before, but I was wondering if you guys gave any more thought to supressing the logging of the username on a failed login? I use a program to auto login and if there is a little extra lag it ends out sending the password as the login name which in turn ends out getting sent (via plain text) to the remote syslog. Maybe just doing a comparison and only sending the failed username if it is Admin or Root or another common system account and xxxxxx it out if not???
I'd like to run remote logging on all of our radios, but I like the convenience of clicking one button and logging into a dozen of them at once more so! If not, I guess I'll have to work on a better way of automating Putty.
Thanks.
You are in luck. This was added to 1.10.7 that is due out tomorrow.
Thanks!

Tony,
Any possibility of putting this feature back in again? Not sure when it crept back in, just hadn't got around to asking for a while.
Thanks,
Steve
I will work towards incorporating this change back into one of the next releases.
Thanks!
