Any Difference noticed between adapters.

I had been using the routerboard II type adapters. (When thats all that was available)
They only have a regulator on board.

Now I see the the newer board that are being offered have 6 chips along the card edge. Has anyone noticed a difference in performance in actual use ???

I built a p4 box and found that it would not start with the newer PCI adapter in it.
(This is the one with the chips along the buttom"
I switched it out for the older type without anything active besides the regulator.
It works fine.
I thought someone might be spared a headache.

Looks like I found part of the answer myself.
