View Full Version : Most efficient way to arrange cards?
I have a soekris 4521 with 2 lucent cards and a wmp11. I have the lucents set up as AP's, and the WMP11 as a client to our bandwidth source, serving as the backhaul. Is this the ideal way to set it up, or should I change the WMP11 to AP mode and have our backhaul associate to it? The WMP11-backhaul will only be a PtP link, and there are 4521's on both ends, so not much processor is available for the enhanced PtP protocols. Or I just thought of another one, would it be best to set them both to adhoc?
nevermind about the PtP enhanced protocols, I just rememberd they're not supported on prism cards. Also the other end of our backhaul is a lucent card.
This setup should work well. Keep the two Lucents as the APs, as they have a more mature AP firmware than Intersil. (Though both work very reliably).
Thanks!

Sorry if I'm confused but, WMP11 is a PCI card, and Soekris does not have any PCI slot, only miniPCI!
Pacux.
the WMP11 is indeed a PCI card, however it is actually a mini-pci card mounted on a pci carrier. A little de-soldering of the metal case and the mini-pci card snaps right out.
