All,

I updated the firmware on my WRAP yesterday to the latest BETA. After I completed the upgrade I can not log into the box now? I can not even connect to it? I made sure I told it to save my settings so the IP address should be the same but it no longer responds to anything? Even my SNMP software is unable to connect to it? I have tried the old 192.168.1.1 address just in case It got reset to default settings? Has anyone had an issue with the upgrade? I have performed a bunch of upgrades in the past and have never ran into this issue.

Thanks,
Tasos...

What kind of system did you upgrade, and from what version did you upgrade from?

What Tony is getting at, and I have had lots of guys recently do this wrong, did you use .bin file with the strrw name? If you used the strr bin you will have a WRAP that is expecting video and keyboard. There have been some system that actually timeout and finish booting after several hours, but it is hit and miss at best.

I am a dumb A**... I think I did. I will have to check tonight. I will be pissed if I downloaded the wrong bin file.

Thanks Guys,

I don't know why but it has happened a lot lately. Possibly because we have the same price guys are using Server licenses and are figuring they need server images, which don't work on the WRAP.

The Router images will accept a Server key, so please make sure to use the proper SBC Router image if you have a WRAP, RouterBoard or Soekris.

Lonnie,

I did install the wrong bin as you and tony pointed out. What are my options to get it back up and running again? Do I have to copy and image to the affected AP's CF card or is there an easier way?

Thnaks,

Most of the time the system will come up eventually, allowing you to re-flash it, however if it does not become pingable, you may need to redo the CF and then upload your previously saved configuration.

Tony,

I never wrote down the License Key for my WRAP board. I did put a new raw file on the CF but now when the AP comes up it is asking for a new license key. Do you have a list of every license that was purchased and if I gave you the MAC address of the WRAP would you be able to find the license key that was purchased for this WRAP?

The license should be under your license-keys.com account. If you purchased your WRAP through us, and have not signed up for a license-keys.com account (which we would have transfered your license too for future reference), please send your MAC address to lonnie (via email) and we'll send you your key.

Thanks!
