StarOS v2.00.3b8-4444 ready for testing

Release notes for v2.00.3b8:
*) wpa client roaming, and re-authentication has been improved for those who change security settings on their AP. (eg. from wpa to open system, back to wpa).
*) site survey has been added for atheros cards in client mode. you will be able to scan all bands while remaining associated. the bands that are scanned are dependent on the operating mode of the card. (auto scans all bands, 11a scans 5.x only, and 11b/g scans 2.4 only)

Release Caveats:
*) arp update failed to make it in this release. 2.00.3b8a will be released shortly.
*) (2004-10-21) clients may fail to associate to AP in shared-key mode. v2.00.3b9 will have this resolved.

As with all betas, please report your success using this release.

I just upgraded a v2.00.2 test wrap to this beta and everything works fine thus far. The site survey works, now its time to hit the road with it ;). Does it just scan once or at some interval or constantly?

Edit: Or does it scan upon request.. it seemed to load instantly so that didn’t cross my mind.

The survey is triggered when you request it, and will keep sweeping until the entire selected band is hit. You may need to run it again after a couple seconds to see the updated list.
