Sometimes FREEZ my routers after SAVE CHNG.,ACTIVATE CHNG.

Hi,every now and again have problem.After save changes/activate changes my remote router be freeze...after i must doing hard restart.
Too have another story with Prism PCI card.After save changes/activate changes some card see freq. 47586 ???
Have you same experience?

I had a box that did this. I ended up swapping out older agere/orinoco pcmcia to pci adapter cards for Ricoh cards, and at the same time re-arranging the cards in slots so I wasn't sharing any IRQs.

One of those two things fixed the problem. Do you use pcmcia to pci adapter cards in this CPU? What brand are they? Do you have IRQs being shared?

my typical configuration:
Epia V5000 or V8000
PCI 2/1 Riser card

1x-Atheros 5212 or 5213A PCI card,brand ALFA NETWORKS or Prism 2.5 by ZCOM XI626

1x-pci/2x pcmcia ricoh adapter,inside is 2x Prism 2.5 by Pheenet/senao 200mW

After save chngs/activate changes is router freeze and if is set WATCHDOG on REBOOT after 10 failed attempt is not execute,if set on 5 pings,so router reboot and all is good.

If is this situation,so ping on this machine is over 2000-4000ms and WPCI card Zcom XI626 displayed freq. 36045 or alike.


this problem is from time out of mind in the old or the newest beta release.But somewhere less,somewhere more.:(
Imho: main character is drivers for Prism card vs. Via Epia board,becouse same configuration is now working at Duron 1.8


It is possible changing all sets directly (e.g. on desire interface) without SAVE CHANGES,ACIVATE CHANGES?
Now i prefer SAVE CHANGES/REBOOT...(for future problems with freeze) :roll:

Ok, I don't see any 'bad' pcmcia to pci adapters... so I would have to guess it's a IRQ sharing problem. Are you sharing IRQs?
