Are there any plans to support 5.8ghz radio cards(if there even are any...) similar to 5.2ghz with a Mikrotik? It would be nice to have a POP and Backlink in 1 soekris box!

Speaking strictly at 5.8 Ghz support... A quick look would indicate that we do not have a 5.8 Ghz solution in the pipeline at this time.
What specific 5.8Ghz Wireless devices were you thinking about?

Anything in general. It would be nice to have a 2.4 and 5.8 pcmcia radio in the same piece of equipment. I had no brands in mind, just wondering what you guys had in mind. I know Mikrotik is a compeditor and they offer 5.2ghz support with Atheros cards. I don't personally like 5.2 because of power restrictions, but at least it is an option.

We have begun to get some cooperation and we expect to have 802.11a support in the next few months. Not sure whether it will extend into the 5.8 GHz region. That will depend on the cards, as the driver really doesn't care. It just sends and receives and the RF section, along with firmware controls will set the band and channel used.
