router built now dies and reboots (sometimes) every 19 minutes and 30 seconds. This happens like clockwork, I assue there is some component in the config file that isn't being reset after the downgrade.

the reason for downgrading is we have seen a slow decline in client throughput on star-os machines with both atheros and intersil cards installed.

going to toast the drive tomorrow and reinstall b2 as it was very solid.

should know better than to put beta sw on a production machine but build rr1.13.3 was very unstable on this P4 box

So what is going on every 19'30" in the background?

What is your hardware, and what edition are you using?

Do you have a ping watchdog enabled?

1.13.4b3 router edition with atheros suport have tried it with both pingwatchdog enabeld and disabled. same result

Intel 2.0 g P4
512 mb ram

1 dlink 520ag
1 seneo aries a card on routerboard mini-pci carrier
1 teletronics 100 mw card on buffalo adapter card.

machine was rock solid prior to router build 1.13.4b3 though I didn't enable the watchdog until build 1.13.4b3

I stand corrected it dies every 19 minutes and 49 seconds. Is there a 20 minute cron sript somewhere? Also notice some usb demeon in the log file,I hae disabled usb in the bios along with other non essential buses all months ago, no recent bios changes.

Can you run use starutil with the -support option, and email me the results?

Thanks!

hardware failure,

when onsite (1 hr boat ride) to discover the ac/dc inverter had failed. The batteries where providing enough juice to keep the box running and I surmise that the 5 minutes of downtime was the point where the batteries had recoverd enough to boot the box.

Another lesson learned!!!
