Wireless Devices: Qual Signal Noise Rate Freq Mode
wpci1: ar5212 24 -71dbm -102dbm 12 5825 client

Locked freq to 5825 "a mode" on ap side / auto on client side.

This report is from the client end..
It says rate 12 but Banging on the client radio IP from the AP side.

send rate: 2373 KB/sec
recv rate: 3948 KB/sec

Path distance is 12 miles.

ACK locked to 8000 both sides

-------------------------------
Question???
There seems to be a little difference of opinion what freq to use.
When I set it to auto for "it's first flight " it defaulted to 5250 every time.

Anyone care to shed some light on this point ?
Antennas are PAC solids 29dbi 5.8 feeds.
30 ft LMR 600 client end
4 ft LMR 400 AP side

I need to consider a little loss for going through clear glass on the AP side.
This site isn't on line yet so if anyone wants to see the results of a setting I would be glad to punch them in and display the results.
I can admin either end without the wireless link so it isn't hard to recover from a dropped link condition.

You have a pac wireless 29dB dish punching thru glass window? Wow.
Looks like you found your 'signal' by locking the frequency in the upper band.
Sounds like a great setup.

I just did some testing and those dishes are Excellent for the 5200 channels as well. For some reason anything in the high range, except 5825 is poor. The absolute minimum ACK is 568, so I set it to 600 and the numbers look a bit a better than what you have achieved.

Very nice signals for 12 miles. We have to get some of the for our own use. How much are they?

$ 272.00 each.
I have these set to Horiz Pol.
I need a radome for the one on the hill.
------------------------
They are very narrow to adjust .
Moving 1/4 in Horiz drops the sig some 5 points.
Hard to aim because it jumps around so much when it is searching..

Actually I started out in Auto mode and it found 5250 first.
I have been testing from there.

I still don't know what freq to use.
There is a lot of radio "stuff up there" ...

Which band is legal for this link ?

Also what are the 5.3's used for. ?

Eje at fament has them for $241. He also has a 17db version that looks interesting for $60

Dave wrote me to say:
I found the TV station has a couple of Tsunami radios set up full duplex.
They are on freqs 5803 and 5741.
Model 31145-41A20

So, that explains the poor 5.7. It also means those antennas are entirely usable for 5.2 and up.

I just ordered 8 of the pac wireless 26dB antennas, and 2 of the 22dB antennas from pac-wireless. Also going to order 8 ag520 cards. These are all for PTP links that 3-10 miles... and will be in sheds. I'll be using short cable runs, but left room for lots of loss in the calcs.
After this is all setup, we're gonna attempt 32 miles using WRAP boards and 33dB dishes.. along with probably the senao 5354 minipci cards.

We tried out 52 mile shot and got quality of 5 dB which is too low to lock and stay locked. That was using 3 foot solids with 31 dB gain. Your 32 mile shot should work with the 33 dB dishes. It will be a bit weak, but I expect it will link.

Your ACK should be set to about 1800.
