Hot Spot and Radius not communicating

I have recently got my staros based hotspot up to the point where it is handing addresses and asking username info and I have white lists set up and I'm getting ready to deploy these things. But I can not get my staros to communicate with an external radius server, If if use the ntradping utility I can get an auth response from my FreeRADIUS server, and if i screw up the settings in ntradping (site and stuff) i can get my radius server to publish logs about not being able to communicate, however I can not get StarOS to send anything to my radius server. It is like the staros is somehow deciding for itself with out even trying to communicate with my radius server not to authenticate the user.

I have the wireless card ACL set to allow and have hot spots active on the inteface, as it is prompting and stuff like, if I white list sites, user's can get out to the white listed site, but I cant get my AP to even send a udp packet to my radius server!! any suggestions?

NEVERMIND i didnt change the secret configuration directive to reflect the ip of my radius server, so instead of sending the request with a null secret it didnt send anything and thus generated no traffic.
