Not a misprint... DWL-AG530...

Hey is this the new AR5004 chipset with the insane rx sensitivity? The cpu I'm on right now doesn't have adobe acrobat so I can't read the data sheet.

no, it looks pretty much the same as the dwl-ag520 for sensitivity, etc.
It's Atheros-based, and looks to have a detachable antenna. not sure as to the chipset differences. If anybody has tried these in StarOS, please let us know if the card is supported..

Give me a single license and I'll be happy to try it out...
JUST KIDDING!!!
The only diffrence I can see, is that it has a better connector than the other card does --- DWL-AG520, and it costs about 18 bucks more.
Seing as how few if any will use the spectrum hogging turbo mode, I doubt it would be popular for any reason other than the connector.

I picked up two of these at COMPUSA today... they seem like the same card as the AG520, and have the exact same type of connector (the one that breaks easy)
I have a AG520 at my house I'm going to compare board revs against and chipsets... haven't had a chance to throw it into a starOS box yet, but again it looks exactly like the AG520 and not the picture on the website of the AG530.

Well the boards and chips are the exact same. The only difference is the metal 'cover' on the boards. One is painted different, but they are the same shape.
Even the AG530 box and manual has a pic of the card that looks exactly like it. The pic on the website looks nothing like the ag530 I have.

Crazy...
First there was the AG520
Then there was a AG530 that looked exactly like a AG520, had the same chipsets, but was painted AG530 lettering.
Then, there was the AG530(A2) with the 5004 chipset, and RPSMA connector.
Now, you're telling me there is a AG530(A3)?
Oh well, at least it still is a atheros chipset!
I gotta order some more AG530s to see if they say A3 now... all my 520s and 530s and 530(A2)s are deployed up on towers.

I just biught (2) 530's from Comp USA.
They are marked H/w Ver A3 after the SN on the barcode.
P/N BDWLAG530.A3
I did a search of the FCC ID and it turned up blank.
FCC ID: KA22003070024-2
I removed the cover and found the ATHEROS chip marked:
AR5213-ES
A12571B
4303
I am testing it in a VIA EPIA 5000 motherboard.
I did have to upgrade to the latest Build 4372 to be recognized.
So far the only test I have made is on 2.4 ghz (My home link)
I have a very poor 12 mile path through pine trees .
The 5213A-00 chip in a 5004x generic radio in an adapter gave me a reading of 6.
The new 530 is giving me a 10 with no dropped packets..
As soon as I get some motherboards I am expecting, I will be trying these in a 5.8 link .
-------------------------
The connector is a very solid and is soldered through the board and lends itself well to RSMA pigtails .
The antenna that comes with the kit looks like it will be very handy also.
There is no mini cable like the 520's but a PC land from the radio to the connector.
I wanted to offer som information to anyone that might be looking to use these caards.
-------------------
A word of caution, DLINK could change anything at any time.
Chances are if your numbers match mine it will at least be recognized and work.
I will post more speciffics later in the week when I know more.
Feel free to ask questions or share outcomes.

hmmm.. guess this is why my ver3 card wasn't recognized when I put it into a star-os box to test it. I thought it just didn't work.
I'll have to do an upgrade.

Some questions on your link...
1. Is it 802.11b or 802.11g?
2. What size/type antenna do you have at your house?
3. Are you amped or just using the radio power?
4. I have not used the Atheros cards yet, so what do the readings of "6" and "10" represent?

I had better make a few thing clear.
The readings about my personal link are only there to say that I saw an improvevent in the "B" mode.
Part of that could have been anything even drivers.
---------------------
I only posted this because some of the guys have been trying to get the 530 cards to work at all.
Also there was a question as to what chip was being used and what version.
--------------------
I am working on a very special 5.8 backhaul project and I was testing different cards in a VIA 5000 motherboard.
I couldn't get the old style DWL AG520 Ver .A1 to even boot. the MOBO.
It just hung up right from the "git go".
------------------
I went out and bought some new 530's mainly because I have a clearance problem between the back of the motherboard and the type "N" F connector in the end of the dish feed.
I didn't want to lose any sig. using multi adapters to make what I have on hand work.
-----------------
Ideally I would use an angle N/ M on that end .
I was very pleased to find the 530's have a very nice and rugged RSMA that goes through the board.
-----------
It just so happens that I have a ton of nice connectors and pigtails from my old WL2400 days.
I just love it when a plan comes together.
I am going to save my 5004's for my WRAP boards.
------------------
As the chips are marked with a 5213-"ES" I don't really know what version they are but I am going to give them a shot and revert to a PCI adapter and the latest CM-9's if they don't work out.
The big issue is the ufl connector and the thin coax vs: the LMR 240 and nice big connectors for this max througthput BH.
---------------------
What I am using won't do you any good as it shouldn't work at all anyway.
It is truly worst case..
Just so you don't think I am putting you off.
I am on the edge of a 60* beam that is a 25 mile link.
I am shooting through a stand of long needle pines 1000 yards from my antenna.
I am 13 miles from the site.
I have a amped solid dish on my end
Oh yes a qual of 10 gives me a sig of -86 and a connection that beats the heck out of a dial up.
1500 b pings no timeouts, No drops.

Hope this helps.
