Lonnie, and list:

I know that the atheros card support on StarOS does not report noise, as Lonnie stated, it is not supported by the Atheros Code.

I got a big question, we also have some MP11.a products from Proxim, I checked the fcc id filings for it, and it uses a Atheros card too!, so how come the MP11a has a SNR readings?!, for the radio to know the SNR, it has to know the RSSI and Noise right?

this is weird

The Atheros cards do handle noise and in fact have quite a bit of code in the driver to do so, however there are no per-packet noise readings that can be used for per-user SNR calculations. There may be a possibility that Proxim may be using some of the global hardware readings in it's SNR stats.

The cards are constantly adjusting their no signal floor of -95 dB by taking noise into account. Our quality reading is actually the SNR, it is just that actual nose is not reported. It is accounted for, just not repoprted.
