Please, what is he maximum distance I can get from the Atheros Cards when I am using the 2.4 GHz feature.

At this time we simply cannot answer that from experience. I will speculate but please keep in mind this might not work out.
With a 24 dB grid antenna and 802.11b mode you should be able to get about 20 miles. If you switch to 802.11g you are using OFDM modulation and that seems to be lower power and I would guess you'll be limited to 10 miles and under.

More distance is possible using an amp... you should be able to go 50 miles with an amp.

What kind of amps? 500mW amps? 1W amps? For example...

What I meant was is there no distance limitation in hardware other than RF power?

There should be no timing issues. The timing adjustments are work in progress so if anything is found we'll fix it. Our goal will be to have unlimited distancce from a software standpoint. That means if you have LOS and the power you will be able hit it.
