Changes between v1.13.3b10 and v1.13.3b11:
New: starutil addition to disconnect hotspot sessions based on username or IP
New: Hotspot addition to allow one to select PAP or CHAP-based authentication. (hotspot dialog)
New: MAC address ":" separator is now optional in hotspot authentication.
Update: Atheros wireless updates for 802.11g compatibility with associated 802.11b clients.
Update: WRAP Editions now have a serial console at 38400bps to match the default BIOS setting. (used to be 9600bps)
Fixed: 100% CPU usage, and resulting inability to log into a hotspot page has been addressed. We have been unable to duplicate this situation as described by a small number of users, however this update may help.

To enable Atheros support, you can purchase an Atheros-enabled key from your reseller, or online via www.license-keys.com. All Server keys include the Atheros license. Do not generate a key that is locked to an Atheros card, as the key itself determines if the Atheros support is activated.

Atheros cards tested: D-Link DWL-AB520, DWL-AG520, DWL-G520, Proxim 8482-WD
To date, all Atheros-based cards tested by users have been supported in the later releases. Please let us know if your specific card is note being detected, or does not operate correctly.

OEM releases for this version are available.

Any and all comments are welcome.

ISO images for the Server Editions are not available in this release. For those who have to install via ISO, please install the Router Edition, then upgrade to the Server Edition .bin.

Changes between v1.13.3b10 and v1.13.3b11:
New: starutil addition to disconnect hotspot sessions based on username or IP
Would this be done using the same parameters for disconnecting PPPoE/PPtP via the existing starutil 1.7? or would this require a new version of starutil?
PPP USER OPTIONS:
-dis_ppp "username" Disconnect PPPoE / PPtP session by username
-list_ppp View list of logged in PPP users

Also, would there be a release of starutil 1.7 (or the newer starutil) for linux?
This would facilitate the scripting for disconnection of an expired user from a linux radius/billing server.

Thanks!

v1.8 of starutil will be needed for the hotspot disconnect. Both Windows and Linux versions will be released later today.

Thanks!

I'm still having an issue with the link going dead. After about 3 hours more or less the wireless connection goes dead. On either side of the link if you "apply settings" the link comes back alive again. To get us by I've setup the watchdog to reboot when this happens and the link comes up fine.

The customer noticed (speculation) that when doing a download or stream audio that the connection lasts for about 30 minutes then goes dead until a reboot or the "settings are reapplied"

This issue was happening on beta version 4, 9,10, and now 11. I'm using the atheros in "A" mode. With atheros I'm also having a signal level issue but I'm sure the StarOS boys are still working on this.

When the link goes dead, can you please email us with the output from the starutil "-kernlog" option before you reset the unit?

Thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem, I'll send the kernel log next time it does it. It seems to happen more often when the rate is set to higher numbers. Setting the rate to 11mb fixed on both ends has almost eliminated the problem. A couple of times I've logged in during the problem and the signal was at some ridiculous number like -35 to -48 (normally signal is -65 to -70) but sometimes the number is normal when it happens.

I can't email you, I get a "501 Domain must resolve" error from valemount, which I'm betting is a problem on my side. I checked the forward and reverse lookups for my mail server. Any pointers?

Feel free to PM either Lonnie or myself if you are unable to send an email to us directly. Our spam filters are highly aggressive and require a reverse DNS on all SMTP servers sending us email. Can you provide us (via PM) the IP of your SMTP server?

Thanks!
