Greetings, I was wondering if the consensus was that StarOS with the new Atheros PCI cards would be a good point to multipoint 5.8 solution to use for backhauling micropops to the main tower.
We are using Karlnet for our pops (Trango 900Mhz soon as well) and
Trangolink10 for backhaul from primary pops. I need to bring up 2 - 8
micropops using Karlnet to get some extra coverage. I really didn't want to make these micropops clients on our Karlet ap's at the main tower since they could grow to 20-40 clients each and that would be a lot of added load on the ap's at the main tower.
Would a StarOS box at the main tower with an omni and StarOS clients at the micropops be a good solution for this application?
