Changes between v1.13.3b5 and v1.13.3b6:
Fixed: ESSID lengths > 19 no longer cause the system to hand on bootup (thanks to all who helped track this down). This problem only exists while using Prism-based cards.
Update: Atheros client-mode association update

To enable Atheros support, you can purchase an Atheros-enabled key from your reseller, or online via www.license-keys.com. All Server keys include the Atheros license. Do not generate a key that is locked to an Atheros card, as the key itself determines if the Atheros support is activated.

Atheros cards tested: D-Link DWL-AB520, DWL-AG520, DWL-G520, Proxim 8482-WD
Cards reported to work: WG311 (802.11G)

Any and all comments are welcome.

Thanx for this quick new beta, i am running it now with my old essid which is a verry ling one, and now it works.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
:?: I don't have something to complain about now :?: hehehhe

OK maybe a feature request but this is only to make administering more easy

when using the autologin using hotspot, the name uf the user is the mac adress, i would like to see the possibillety of seeing a name here because now i have a list of mac adresses printed to keep some overview.

also it would be nice if i create a new user (with the web interface) and i am entering a framed IP, that this one will automaticly be added to the dhcp configuration. if i am doing this now. i need to do this on the machine or with putty, and it would me nice to automate this also.

hehehe i found something.....

No realy thanx i love it now, and can only say "keep on going doing this great job"

The name would be handy so we'll see about a future release.

The whole point of the AutoAuth system is that you don't have to maintain DHCP files. All you need is the radius entry.

I will look for some information to understand the autoauth option and maybe it is something, until now i asumed that with autoauth EVERY one has to need a auto login, bur one of my users/workstations is using multiple logins for friends..

but i think i am wrong and will check some documentation.

now i am going to install beta 7 becouse i want to now that the NAT thing is....

Hi Lonnie & Tony,

I am back at my remote site working on that 15 mile link.

I put the build 3881 firmware on both sides and fired it up. No love.

At one point, I did see a link, but then it went away when I changed settings. Best signal I could come up with was a -80, and the remote station just cycles through channels and never links up.

Here are the settings at the client end:

BSS Channel: auto
Transmit Rate: 6
ACK: 500
Country Code: US
TX Power override: 30
Network Type: Station
Operating Mode: 802.11a

Here are the settings at the ap side:

BSS Channel: auto
Transmit Rate: 6
ACK: 500
Country Code: US
TX Power Override: 30
Network Type: Access Point
Operating Mode: 802.11a

The last time I left it, 24 hours later it was associated - but I'm not getting anything out of it right now.

We are scheduled to go re-mount the antenna on Tuesday afternoon with the hopes that we will fix any potential fresnel zone impingement and get us a clearer shot.

Looks like I am about five-ten miles away from Jamie's shot in Windsor, Colorado. Jamie, give me a call if you ever want to get together. I'm curious to see how your shot works.

Matt, could you set the AP channel? In fact set both to the same channel or frequency as this could speed up the lock.

If you choose a channel, try in the 5.7 - 5.8 range as they have a higher power output than the lower 5.x range (which is default if you use auto for channel assignments).

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I set the channel on the AP side ( I can't get to the other end) and now it is set to 5825. I think there may be a lot of noise in that band in our area, of course that is hard to determine without a working noise indicator.
My Trango radio right next to the AP is going six miles in Horizontal with no problems, but is aimed in a completely different direction.

I'll let it sit overnight and see if it straightens out.

Thanks for the help.

Two boxes on the bench: could not pass traffic on "locked" will pass traffic if "auto".

StarOs version 6b

Took Tsunami off the big antenna on 22 mile link.
Hooked up StarOs on 5.825.
1AP 1Client
Jumps around everywhere.
Stops for a few seconds and we can ssh in.
Then starts scanning again.

We need a "check box" for DON'T SCAN NO MORE!"

I set the channel to 5825 and let it fly. Still not working. It is associating, but it will not pass traffic. Signal strength is still only -80 to -84.

I'm going to go through the other 5.8 channels at one hour intervals to see how it reacts.

I understand that Pac Wireless has a higher gain 3' dish coming out in the very near future.
Should help with these longer links. They also have 5.3 and 5.8 high gain wire grids coming to market this month..

Also, they told me that trying to do 5.3 on a 5.8 antenna will give you poor results, but I'm sure we already knew this.
