Hi,
Like FCC in USA, in our country the federal agency of telecommunications regulates the use of all kind of equipment. We are planning to licenciate one box with Orinoco or Prism cards running StarOS but for the lab tests we need to calculate the process gain, which is the difference between the SNR with and without the spreading code of the system. The minimum value is 10 dB. Is there a way we can do that, turning on and off the spreading code ?
Thanks,
There is no general API available for us to 'tune' in these ways, at least not in any of our technical docs we have for the cards.

I am not sure what you intend to acomplish -- Lucent/Orinoco cards already have the aproval from ANATEL (Brazil regularory agency). Thats why people are using AP100s/AP2000 (myself included) -- We also use PCs or SBCs with StarOS AND Lucent/Orinoco/Agere cards.
Correct me if I am wrong...

Angilberto,
You're right about Lucent/Orinoco, but We want to licenciate boxes with other brands of radio card not licensed in Brtazil yet. For this, we must provide to the Lab a method (software based, I guess) to turn on/off the spreading code. We do use Ap1000/2000 too :D

The labs in the US use a software package that I believe is provided by the people that write the firmware for the card. The labs here already have the software generally, but is is probably something you will need to ask them.
In general you will need to go to the card manufacturer and license the software from them.
