What am I missing about the specs that would make me want to go to:
http://www.coolerexpress.com/ie80mipciwil1.html
and purchase them?
They're .11g cards based on the Intersil ISL38000C chipset, which IIRC is the Prism GT chipset, which lonnie & tony said they have beta drivers for them but no hardware to test with. Now that hardware is available, 802.11g might not be far away.
Tony/Lonnie: I'd be glad to send you a couple of these for testing if it will help.

Hi!
I have got one of those cards and put it into my WRAP board.
The latest beta version strrw-1.13.1b5-3598.raw does not detect the MiniPCI adapter??
Any clues here to where to start the debugging of this?
Best Regards
Oleb
Star-OS doesn't yet support them but I've heard lonnie & tony say that support would come quickly if they had some hardware to test with.
If one was sent to us, I'm sure Lonnie would bump up the release date for these cards.
Thanks!

How do you think this will compare with the "b"?
What kind of distance/throughput do you anticipate?
Will this lessen interference?
As a drop-in replacement for an 802.11b card, in 11b mode, it has slightly less sensitivity than current cards. In G mode, for the same signal strength, it will give you roughly 50% more throughput than an 11b card. Also I'm pretty sure these cards run in DMA mode, which means much better performance on slower systems. This is just from the MFG posted specs, I haven't tested one of these, and haven't heard of any real-world experience. I'm sure the numbers will improve once the chipset/standard matures. Also the G modes use OFDM, which is rumored to effectively deal with multipath interference.

Is it the same thing as this that YDI sells? They have a b/g intersil minipci card.

It's in there somewhere.

Hi!
Any news on the support for the Intersil ISL38000C chipset yet?
Best Regards
Oleb
No as of yet. We are concentrating on Atheros support at the moment.
Thanks!

Hi!
Any estimated timeframe for a possible beta with the Intersil ISL38000C chipset supported?
Best Regards
