I'm surely not the only person that has noticed there are only a few hours left in September.
Or is staros v2 joining HalfLife 2......?

Maybe we pretty much released everything through the month. Can someone fill us in as to what we are now missing? And Atheros doesn't count.

my only gripe is the abililty to make ACL changes on the fly without activating changes, that way you don't interrupt good customers.
Other than that I think Lonnie's right; lots of goodies were added this month.

Why do you need manual ACL now that we have the hotspot and radius?

hmmm... haven't looked into that.
We don't use hotspot or radius... we use starOS for AP functions only at this time. We have a BSD VPN server that logs bytes up/downloaded (we're a metered service) Only time I use ACL is when a customer hasn't been paying or has a worm.

The new code takes care of that through radius. It also can take the IP from radius and the CBQ rules. The beauty is that it does this from a central server, so if you have multiple AP units, you have one place and one program to make changes to. You no longer log into individual AP units and change DHCP, ACL and CBQ settings. If the guy does not pay his bill, simply disable him in radius and when he reauthenticates he his shut down and denied. No application of ACL and no session killing for the other users. When he pays up, re-enable him and never look back.
This makes the AP more of a handler than a controller and simplifies the setup. With our client DHCP, etc (in beta available through these forums) you can even have the AP in your radius and it is setup to talk without you having to enter IP, mask or default route.
This is starting to make our stuff as easy to use as the dumb bridges without all the limitations.
I see where bobbyc would need the current ACL support, since he's allowing all, excluding a few 'bad apples' from associating to the AP. The ACL reapply feature fell off the bottom of our todo list with the introduction of Radius, however I will re-include it as it may yet be handy for situations such as these.

The only other feature I would like to see is more control over the CBQ'ing. Variable fallbacks and timing etc. would be nice to have.
