Dumbest Question "Just bought key and it wont unlock&qu

Lonnie/Tony,
There is a problem in paradise. This is my first purchase of a copy of the license. I entered the unlock key and I can't get the thing to take it. I enter the unlock code and press enter and it just beeps at me. Am I doing something wrong. The trial is still there. Can you help me out when you get a chance.

I have rebooted the machine to see if that was the problem. Nope it just erased all of my settings and I had to reconfigure it.

If the system beeps when you press enter, that can be one of three things:

1) You have a CPE Edition installed, while trying to enter a server licence.
2) You are mis-typing the license key (easiest to use Putty, and copy/paste it into the session)
3) The MAC address you purchased the key for was mis-typed on license-keys.com in which case we would refund it, and allow you to purchase against the correct MAC.

I figured it out. I was mistyping it but didn't realize it. Then I rebooted so lost all settings. So when I rebooted and it came online I had the onboard nic enabled where I had it been disabled before so that I could key it to the removable Nic card. So I made quite a few attempts at trying to key to the onboard nic before I realized what was up.

I went in and disabled the onboard nic and then re-entered the correct key and it worked like a charm
