Hotspot with DHCP client?

Is it possible to use Hotspot with a cable or dsl modem without a Static IP addy?

Yes, it should work well.

when i try to enable hotspot i get a error msg that says "Cannot enable this option without a proper gateway"

After rethinking the configuration, the hotspot requires a known gateway device and IP address on the gateway interface. The hotspot subsystem does not handle dynamic gateway interfaces yet (such as DHCP and pptp/pppoe), though is something we will look into.
